REVIEW Raices Hotel San Agustín

This was our 1st stop in Colombia so we weren’t sure what to expect with regards to accomodation but we were really happy with the hospitality, cleanliness and price staying at Raices in San Agustín.

Hospitality: 10/10 When we 1st arrived after a huge travel mission from Ecuador the owner wasn’t here, but the lady who was there cleaning showed us a couple of room options and although she couldn’t tell us the prices she invited us to go and have a shower and to rest while we waited. We took her up on the offer and when the owner came back he was happy to negotiate a good price and take me through the options for the tours on offer.

Room: 9/10 We had the room upstairs on the corner, where the balcony overlooks the garden. We were super happy because it was lovely and clean and the bathroom looked brand new.

Location: 9/10 San Agustín is a small town so everything is pretty close. The hotel is just off the main road near the plaza, there is a yummy cheesy arepas cart just across the road and a tasty chicken restaurant around the corner. No complaints here!

Value: 9/10 We paid $50,000 ($25aud) per night for our lovely room which included a breakfast of eggs, bread, coffee and juice. The internet was a bit average in the room but worked well downstairs.

Overall: 9/10 Very happy with our stay here and would happily recommend.

Rooms are all clean, only downside is the rooms on the balcony lack windows and natural light.
